Google Glass

Taha Rafiq     04:15:00
Google Glass is one of the most latest & unique technology in the world. Google Glass is a type of wearable technology with an optical head mounted display (OHMD). It was developed by Google with the work of constructing a mass market ubiquitous computer. Google Glass displays information in a smartphone. Wearers communicate with the Internet via natural language voice commands. Google started selling a prototype of Google Glass to qualified "Glass Explorers" in the US on 15-April-2013, for $1,500, before it became available to the public on 15-May-2014, for the same price.

On 15-Jan-2015, Google announced that it would stop producing the Google Glass prototype but remained committed to the development of the product. According to Google, Project Glass was ready to "graduate" from Google Labs, the experimental phase of the project.
Google Glass was developed by Google X, the facility within Google devoted to technological advancements such as driverless cars. Google Glass is smaller and slimmer than previous head-mounted display designs. The Google Glass prototype resembled standard eye glasses with the lens replaced by a head-up display. In mid of 2011, Google engineered a prototype that weighed 3,600g (8pounds) by 2013 they were lighter than the average pair of sunglasses.  The product was publicly announced in April-2012. Sergey Br in wore a prototype of the Glass to a 5-April-2012, Foundation Fighting Blindness event in San Francisco. In May-2012, Google demonstrated for the first time how Google Glass could be used to shoot video. Google provided four prescription frame choices for $225 & free with the purchase of any new Glass unit. Google entered in a partnership with the Italian eyewear company Luxottica, owners of the Ray-Ban, Oakley, and other brands, to offer additional frame designs. Google Glass was used in military for the first time in the world by Nepal.

In Jan-2015, Google ended the beta period of Glass (the "Google Glass Explorer" program)

Google offers a companion Android and iOS app called My Glass, which allows the user to configure and manage the device:

Taha Rafiq     09:59:00
Laughter is a universally recognized expression of amusement, & joke telling can become a professional gig for those that truly have the humorous touch.
International Joke Day is the perfect day to let out all of the laugh generating jokes you have collected over the years, and sharing them with your friends or love ones.
History of International Joke Day:
International Joke Day introduced in the United States and also first celebrate in the US. The first joke is often attributed to the Greeks, specifically Palamedes, who is also credited with the invention of many things. Greece also boasts the first comedy club, though its purpose was sharing jokes among friends quite than stand up performances as we have now.
Celebrating International Joke Day:
There are lots of options for celebrating this day. You could simply tell some jokes to a friend, relative, or a stranger on the street, whoever seems to need the most hilarity in their day. Also you can invite your best friends in a joke telling party. Another option is to visit a comedy club & listen to a professional jokes tellers for a night of fun. Find out if the club has open mic opportunities & consider sharing some jokes of your own. You can also enjoy this day with play some comedian CDs or DVDs and listen their jokes.

Why time will stop for a second on June 30

Taha Rafiq     10:48:00

Time Measure:
Observation of time is based on the revolution of earth around the sun & its spin around its own axis. A complete round around the sun is called as one year, and a complete rotation on its axis called as a day. On these clarifications, a day has 24 hours and 365 days create a year. The day is further divided into hours, minutes and seconds. Time measured by the earth's rotation relative to the sun is called solar time. Solar time is measured by assuming that relative to the earth, the sun is at the same position after every 24 hours.
Most Accurate Measure of Time:
Measurement of time based on the earth's rotation. The unit of time defined by the International System of Units is not based on astronomical observation. The length of a second is defined according to the vibrations of caesium atoms at various atomic clocks. International Atomic Time is based on a system of about 270 atomic clocks. Signals from these clocks are transmitted to the International Bureau of weights & measures. Seconds measured by atomic clocks are the most accurate. These clocks are predicted to be off by less than a second in 50 million years.

Correct Discrepancy:
The international basis is the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This system, introduced on 1-Jan-1960, is designed to accommodate the timekeeping differences between the atomic & solar time. Since 1-Jan-1972, the UTC is being improved by adding an extra leap second whenever it is necessary. This is done by adding one extra second in the last minute of June or December. The announcement of adding the leap second is done by the International Earth Rotation (IER) & Reference System Services (RSS). For the synchronization of these two measured values, time will have to stop for a second on June 30th as the last minute of the month will have 61 seconds.

How will the leap second affect computers?
In Gregorian calendar the leap year rule was used. The most commonly used international calendar, adds an extra day every 4 years. Including of an extra day compensates for the extra time of 5 hours, 48 minutes & 46 seconds that the earth takes over 365 days to complete one rotation around the sun. This permanent rule is usually considered in all computer programmes & there is no problem occur. The leap second cannot be predicted as the time taken by the earth to spin around its axis depends on several factors like dynamics of the earth's core, variation in the atmosphere & oceans, ground water, ice storage & so on & can change from year to year. The irregularity of the leap second could cause problems in many computing systems. Some major web based services suffered because of the including of a leap second 3 years ago.
